Ive only been playing poker for about a month or so, but I think I have found a very effective strategy.. the only reason im posting it here is to see what you guys have to say about it.. and if you think the strategy, in the end will be successful. Now im not very big in the poker world.. rescently ive been trying to get with new people and playing some games.. but its hard considering im just 21. So alot of my games are just 20$ buy in games around my town. Anyways on with the Style. Im VERY aggressive.. I dont like to call it loose because I dont just throw money around.. I force others to throw their money around. For instance.. you know how alot of people will just muck alot of the lower/small connecting cards.. for instance 9/10's or 8/9's? My whole style is built on playing those hands. #1 I like to bet, and bet big before the flop.. to weed out the competition, forcing people to put their moeny in the pot.. or fold their descent/good hands. Now when the flop comes.. most people (when they bet before the flop) will put someone on high cards.. most flops dont come with all face cards.. since there are a majority of lower cards in the deck. So if a flop comes with small connecting cards.. im looking at straight possibilities.. or even lowball pairs that most of the time win me the pot. Ive forced so many people out of hands.. because im confident enough to think my pair of sevens are the highest on the board and bet really high.. Ive been told hand after hand that ill get caught bluffing one of these times.. but in reality im not bluffing... im just not palying what they think i am. The only thorn in the side of this strategy is when i face someone with high pocket pairs. Since they think they got a great hand considering what is on the board.. they are wililng to call my bets.. Tell me what you think..
And dont think i just play small connecting cards.. and a muck the rest of my hands.. Because playing like this gives me the option of playing in almost every hand.. which gives me more of a chance to win pots.. when im forcing people out of the hands.. their stack isnt moving and mine will only increase... So anyways tell me what you think and if you got any ideas to add to the style or things that may conflict my strategy.. dont be afraid to post up. Im just new to the game and i want to learn..

A lot of people do this at SNG's. If you throw out a raise that indicates AA,KK, QQ, AK etc...they play any crap knowing if they hit, they'll nail the guy who can't lay down his sure thing hand. If they miss, oh well, fold. In order for this to work, you have to be playing someone who can't drop a good preflop hand when the flop doesn't bring him any help.

That's alright, though playing on marginal hands can mean you throw money into pots and end up being forced to fold if nothing comes up for you.

A good player may take advantage of you here, taking chips freely just by sticking to playing strong hands. I like your strategy, you pick up a lot of free pots and sting people when they try and take you on should you have a good hand. As I said, the only problem is that you can very easily throw money into what turn into dead hands as far as you're concerned.
