Calhoun County, August 5, 2005:
The Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians is looking to build a 136,000 square foot casino called Firekeepers Casino on 79 acres of land near I-94 and 11 Mile Road in Emmett Township. The casino is potentially planned to hold 2000 slot machines and 50 gaming tables. Parking for over 3000 would be provided.
Bureau of Indian Affairs released a draft environmental impact study this week and will hold a public hearing August 24 at Burnham Brook Center in Battle Creek.
Firekeeper's Casino seems to be working its ways through the system. |
