Is this possible? I have found it impossible. Just can't seem to lay the hand down as I 'have to see those rockets'... even when the guy is screaming aces at me.
I just go against my instinct and double him up or push the rest of my chips in even after I've re-raised him and been re-raised....
Sometimes I 'have to go ahead and put in XXX amount more in the pot because I'm already committed'....
When you know your beat you know your beat and you fold! ... Right? Again, hard to lay this one down....
Statistics of running into aces pre flop when you hold kings 10 handed? |

I just did this myself. He raises. I re-raise with my kings. He goes all in. I know he has the aces. I call anyway. I lose.
It's a little more than 20-1 that anyone else in a full ring has aces when you have kings.
I think the reason I call in this situation is that I have won enough by doing the same thing that I can't help myself. I really should start counting how many times people who are willing to put me all-in after I re-raise actually have the aces to get a good feeling for whether I should call or not.
My sence is that I should fold if the stacks are large and call when the stacks are shorter. |

It's hard to put them down because you know the only envy you've got preflop is someone with a pair of aces or perhaps an A/K suited.
I would always always stay in at least till the flop before folding, unless someone wants to go all-in and the sacrifice isn't worth my while. It's important to distinguish when you think you're beat - so what if you've put xxx in, theres no point in donating xxx more to this other guy is there? Willpower my friend, only when you've lose a few more stacks will that improve |

I'd stay in and see the flop unless I was called all-in, as that would really scream AA at me.
So long as it's only a small call, then I would nearly always stay in, see the flop and hope I get another one to add to my pair. If not, I would consider folding, but that would depend on what the opponent would give away - he bets big I'd be outta there though. |
